How to install Boei on your Joomla site

You can install Boei effortlessly on your Joomla store, and you won't even site a developer.

Just grab a cup of coffee ☕️, and you can do the installation in 5-mins yourself.

Step 1. Create an account

Create a Boei account if you still need to get one. You can open it for free.

Step 2. Create a new widget

When you create a new account, you will immediately see the new widget that was created for you. (Otherwise, you must create a new widget.)

Step 3. Copy installation code

Click on "Step 3 Install on your site" and then click "copy" on the first box.

This code is linked to your domain in Boei. Each domain has its own code.

Step 4. Log in to Joomla

Scroll down for Joomla 5 installation guide.

Steps for Joomla 4

Log into your website as administrator. Then navigate to the Extensions tab and then Module Manager.

Click on the New button at the top-left corner.

Select the Custom HTML module type from the list.

Edit the following options:

  • Title: Boei
  • Position: Left
  • Status: Published

In the Custom HTML section, click on Tools > Source Code.

Paste the Boei code that you got from step 2 here and then click the OK button.

Click on Save & Close button to create the new HTML block on your website.

Steps for Joomla 5

Log into your website as administrator.

First of all we need to temporarily turn off the WYSIWYG editor otherwise Joomla will not save the Boei installation code. We will revert this at the end of this guide.

In the User Menu on the right top, click Edit account.

Go to Basic Settings and choose Editor - None as the editor. Write down which editor you had beforehand so you can revert it later.

Then navigate to the System and then Site Modules.

Click on the New button at the top-left corner.

Select the Custom module type from the list.

Edit the following options:

  • Title: Boei
  • Title Display: Hide
  • Position: footer
  • Status: Published

Paste the Boei code that you got from step 2 in the text area.

Click on Save & Close button.

Finally, rever the Editor settings back to the original settings.

In the User Menu on the right top, click Edit account.

Go to Basic Settings and set the Editor to the orignal setting.

Step 5. Finished coffee

Congrats, Boei is installed and you are done!
