Combine two businesses that represent the same organization while keeping their operational data in Boei.
How to get there: Go to Setup → Business in the top menu → select the business you no longer want to keep → Profile → Danger Zone → Merge Business.
The source business's records move to the business you select, including:
Links between these records stay intact. For example, an existing conversation remains connected to the same contact and chatbot after the merge. Global chatbots and Global FAQs are account-wide already, so they do not need to move.
The business you merge into is the surviving business. Its profile, branding, Inbox AI configuration and other business settings remain in place.
If the surviving business does not yet have a default widget or default chatbot, Boei adopts the source business's default. Otherwise, the surviving business keeps its existing defaults.
The source business's installation key remains active after the merge and points to the surviving business. Existing standard embeds and WordPress installations therefore continue to work.
Widget records and their individual widget keys are preserved too. New installations should use the surviving business's current installation code, but replacing older working keys is not urgent.
Boei moves the linked records as one operation. If a conflict or error occurs, the source business remains in place and no partial merge is saved.
After a successful merge, Boei opens the surviving business. Existing installation keys keep working, but verify that the intended widget and settings are active.
Boei records who performed the merge and what was moved.
The source business stays in the trash for 30 days after a successful merge. There is no undo action in the dashboard, but Boei support can use the temporary recovery record if a merge needs to be repaired manually. After 30 days, the source business is permanently deleted.
