Trial Clients

Onboard prospects as trial clients without using a paid client seat. Convert them to paying clients when they are ready.

How to get there: Click your profile icon (top right) → Clients / SubaccountsAdd New Client → check Trial account.

Why Use Trials

Trial clients let you:

  • Pitch with a real workspace — show the prospect their own dashboard with their data, instead of slides
  • Build out a chatbot before signing — train it on the client's site, install the widget, capture leads
  • Avoid paying upfront — trial clients do not count against your client seat quota

Creating a Trial Client

  1. Click Add New Client
  2. Fill in their email and (optionally) website
  3. Tick Trial account
  4. Choose a trial length between 1 and 14 days
  5. Click Create Client Account

The new client appears in your list with a yellow Trial badge and a countdown of days remaining.

During the Trial

A trial client behaves exactly like a paid client:

  • They can sign in with the credentials you share
  • They have their own widgets, chatbots, and analytics
  • They count against your agency's domain and chatbot limits (same as paid clients)

The only difference is they do not consume a client seat.

Trial Expiration

When the trial reaches its end date:

  • The badge turns red and shows Trial expired
  • The client cannot sign in anymore
  • Their data is preserved
  • You see a Convert to client button next to their name

You can extend a trial by adjusting the end date from the client's actions menu.

Converting to a Paid Client

When the prospect agrees to sign up:

  1. Click Convert to client next to the trial
  2. Confirm — this uses one of your available client seats
  3. The badge is removed, the client can sign in again, and you are billed for the seat from that moment

If you have no available seats, you are prompted to upgrade before the conversion completes.

Deleting a Trial

If a trial does not convert, you can delete it from the actions menu. This removes their workspace and data immediately.
